Water is very important within our digestive system. It helps with the biochemical break-down of the food we eat. 4. Besides our digestive system, water also plays a role in our immune system. Water is a lymph, it helps to fight off illnesses. 5. Water has a high heat capacity which helps limit changes in body temperature. Water allows the body to release heat when the outside temperature is higher than body temperature. The body begins to sweat, and the evaporation of water from the skin surface efficiently cools the body. 6. Water also functions as a lubricant within our body. It helps with the movement of our joints. It also works as a shock absorber for our eyes, brain, and spinal cord. |
